My involvement in the world of autism came as a result of my elder son being diagnosed with autism, a severe learning disability and challenging behaviour, when he was five.

I met some amazing people at the first Forum coffee morning I attended back in 2008. I eventually became a Trustee when I had the opportunity to take over running the Specialist Library and have actively involved myself in supporting our charity in as many ways as I can. I really enjoy being an Admin on our website and social media pages, as access to information is fundamental. I studied Library and Information Studies at the University of Brighton, so these roles really suit me.

In the last few years I have witnessed the Forum going from strength to strength. Membership has increased, we have created a brand and we are increasing our profile and fundraising activities. I am really grateful to those Trustees and Members who volunteer their time to help.

Families affected by Autistic Spectrum Conditions and ADHD are facing some really tough times with issues surrounding diagnosis, funding and schooling. Just knowing that The Forum has helped support them in any small way, makes me feel proud
